深坑一：不把听力训练当回事儿
这一点实际上是绝大多数同学在托福备考的时候都犯了一个错误，很多同学不是特别的重视听力，包括很多同学初中的时候，听力并不作为一个主项在做训练。那么这就导致了一个什么情况呢？就是同学们以为听力只占托福120分里面的30分，所以只花了1/4的时间去准备。那么这其实是大错特错的，因为第一点托福的4项当中有三项都要考到听力的内容，包括听力口语和写作部分。那么轻利差实际上就代表了听力，口语和写作都会差。
在我帮助提分或者取得高分的同学当中，我一开始上课的时候就会跟同学们很明确的讲，如果你的听力能力有26分以上，那么写作能力我可以把你带到28分以上，如果你听力能力只有24分，那么你的写作顶峰也就是在24~26分的区间。
听力老师上课的时候教的是技巧是怎么样？去听出起承转合，怎么样去听出信号词，怎么样去听出哪里是重点，哪里不是重点。但是很多同学本末倒置，知道了哪里是重点，哪里是重要信号词，但是却不知道这个信号词之后究竟是什么意思。沮丧啊，难过啊，听到信号词，不懂的后面的意思，还不是白瞎嘛！
所以在训练听力的过程当中，我一直是坚持让学生用我设立的独特的方法去练习听和读。这样才能从一个单词开始听懂开始会读，然后到一个句子再到一整个片段都能够理解这个片段的意思。
做好听力，重点是听懂，而不是记得60%还是100%
深坑二：背诵单词时不背读音
绝大多数的同学在背诵英文单词的时候是不背诵读音的，那么这就导致了一个问题，没有读音的单词在你的脑海当中就是一幅画，没有逻辑联系，看到了你也未必能想到意思。
经常有家长问我说徐老师我们家孩子单词特别差，她每天都在背，但是就是记不住。这个时候我就会问家长一句话，我现在给您十张图画，然后我告诉您一分钟以后我让您把这幅画画出来，您能做到吗？很多家长都说做不到。做不到是正常的。这两件事情一对比就会发现单词，如果孩子们只是在记忆的时候记他长什么样，然后中文意思是什么，这就跟家长在看十幅画的时候，大概记得画画的走向是一样的一个道理。当没有别的东西去刺激记忆，帮助理解的时候，那么这个东西就是图片记忆。而中国学生的图片记忆能力是很差的，因为中国同学的想象力很弱。这里就是单词的读音发挥作用的时候，只有当大家在不停的读单词的读音，并且去跟自己说这个词是什么意思的时候，我们就可以同时用到我们的听觉，我们的口语以及我们的眼睛，还有我们的大脑去记忆这一个单词。因此，我对学生的要求是每天要读单词，告诉自己什么意思。
深坑三：阅读轻视语法和总结
很多同学在学习托福的时候，只知道托福的语法是很重要的，但是却没有意识到很多时候托福的语法其实并不代表所有的语法。
我们一直说学习语法对于托福的写作和阅读都很重要，但是我们需要知道的是，托福重视的语法并不是所有的我们从初中开始学习的语法。托福的语法里面我们讲几个重点，第一就是你要知道什么是定语后置，什么是定语从句，要知道什么是插入语，要知道什么叫做平行结构，要知道什么叫倒装，什么叫虚拟语态。
但是反观很多固定搭配是不是那么重要呢？其实并没有。最好的去练习托福语法的材料是什么呢？其实就是托福本身的阅读材料。所以在很多同学认为自己托福阅读不行，是因为读不懂句子，然后就去重新学习语法的时候，就已经走了弯路。最合适的方式就是找到专门来讲解托福阅读中语法的课程来帮助自己。而这样的课程我在设立的时候也同样能够提升同学们写作的成绩。因为写作当中我们有一个要求是句式结构要够复杂。那么这个复杂以什么作为标准呢？实际上就是以托福阅读希望学生理解的复杂语言结构作为标准的。
因此很多同学不断的在补托福阅读，也在补托福写作，可是却忽略了真正考的能力是有限的语法知识点，那么到最后就造成了花大价钱，浪费了极多的时间，但是阅读和写作都没有提升的结果。

深坑四：不重视托福考试思维
许多的考生和家长都会认为托福只是语言考试，如果没有考好就是英语不行。实际上这是一个很错误的想法，因为托福的听力、口语和写作都非常重视考生在作答的时候的逻辑能力。
我们这么理解，在听力当中的片段，实际上全部都是由逻辑组成的句子。每一个句子和下一个句子之间是通过逻辑来连接的。如果学生逻辑好的话，那么漏听了一两句，也不会导致他的听力成绩从28分直接下降到22分。但是如果学生听力的逻辑不好，那就导致他必须要每一个句子能听懂，才有可能做对题。所以平时训练当中没有通过练习听力的时候，去思考每一个句子和下一个句子之间的逻辑关系是什么，实际上是非常浪费时间的一件事情。
然后我们就来看口语。很多同学和家长都认为口语就是打口语分数，那么我找一个老师练口语，只要发音漂亮分数就会很好，或者是我拼命的练就可以达到一个好的分数。我曾经也见过有老师跟同学们说过口语，只要一直不停的说、不停顿，就可以拿到很好的分数。这两种想法其实都是错误的。
首先口语的考试当中非常注重同学们在答题的时候，句子和句子之间的逻辑关系，当同学们给了一个回答之后，有没有去给细节，有没有去给出你的论点之后的一个逻辑解释。所以一个老师在上课的时候，注重强调同学们答题的时候，逻辑应该是怎么样，才是一个好的老师。
再来就是写作。有许多的同学都认为只要我写得多分数就能拿的高。但其实很多同学忽略了一点，我们要知道托福考试的评分标准里面四大标准向第一个就是是否依照逻辑解题，第二就是是否有对于话题深入的讨论，第三就是语言是否地道，用词是否准确。第四就是语法上是否有多样句型，结构上是否完整。
这四个大坑讲完我们就来说一说3月的第一场托福考试的写作题目，来理解逻辑对于写作的重要性 。

这就成为我们的第1个观点。那么我们的第2个观点是什么呢？我们的第2个观点可以说，学习艺术和音乐可以增强孩子长大之后在社会上与人交流的能力。5~11岁是孩子在创建自己人生当中和社会亲密连接的一个很重要的阶段，那么在这个阶段里面就需要这个年龄的孩子能够与人交流，而单纯的技术的学习是不能够帮助他们很好的与人交流的。因为技术的学习重视的是像数学物理等有规律性的知识，而艺术和音乐的学习可以帮助儿童去增强有创造性的文化的交流。这两方面的交流，对于将来他们长大之后的社会交际来说都很重要，所以两者缺一不可。

建立清晰的框架
写作不仅考查语言的表达，还考查思路的表达，新托福评分标准中就有这样一项：well organized and well developed。所以在写作中，给考官展现自己清楚的文章思路是很重要的，不管内容表达如何，我们首先要做到的就是框架清晰。
区分段落是最简单直接的方法。看到这里，可能有人会觉得好笑，但是真的是有学生考试一着急，加上时间紧，就忘记了分段，所以我们这里还要再强调一下。一般，综合写作建议分为四个自然段：第一段总述听力和阅读中的观点，后面三个自然段分点具体阐述(一个论点一个自然段，一般综合写作都会给出三方面的具体内容)。不建议只分两个自然段：一段总述，一段分析。因为分析部分还是需要清楚地告诉阅卷人，文章和听力总共表述了几层意思。如果都写在一些，容易给阅卷人造成漏点的假象。独立写作建议分为五个自然段：第一段引出论题，阐述自己的观点，中间三个自然段分三个方面阐述自己的理由，最后一个自然段进行总结。(如果只想到了两点原因，也可以写四个自然段，但是需要达到字数要求)
每一自然段的内容阐述建议按照以下顺序表达：主要观点 —— 具体阐述 —— 举例说明。我们在表达英文时，一定要记住，写每一个自然段的时候，都要首先提出主要观点。因为中英文表达逻辑不一样，中文习惯铺垫，我们写中文文章时，很喜欢在前面铺垫抒情，写了半天还不见主要观点，这是一种意境。但是在外国人的思想中，他们更喜欢直截了当的表达，所以每段第一句话，先把观点给他们，接下去再进行具体的阐述，这样阅卷人就会比较清楚地 get 到你想要表达的意思了。
写完文章要自查
在考试的过程中，文章写完之后还需要留出 2-3 分钟的时间进行自查，这一步也很重要的。因为是机考，我们需要把内容敲在屏幕上，所以在写作过程中，就避免不了会出现一些比较低级的错误，比如拼写，如果错误较多，就算文章写得不错，也会影响到阅卷人的心情，自然，分数也就达不到预期的效果。总的来看，大家经常会出现以下几种错误，我们总结一下，以便大家自查。
拼写错误
在考试中，考生会遇到两种情况：一种是打字的误打，另一种是对单词本身 记忆的错误，因此不仅需要考生在平时的备考过程中多多进行上机练习，熟悉用键盘打字，还要求考生在平时注意背单词的精确性。
时态错误
托福写作除了拿过去事件作为例子用过去时态之外，一般使用现在时态，所以大家在检查的时候需要注意时态的运用，千万不能各种时态混用。
词性错误
英文中，每种词性都有具体的用法，最常见的词性错误是形容词和副词的混用，检查时需要重点关注一下。
句子表达是否完整
受中文影响，很多同学在英语写作中经常会出现一些表达不完整或者特别中式的句子。在写英语句子时，我们一定要遵循五大句型的句子结构，然后再将修饰成分填充进去，切记简单粗暴的词词对应。另外这里还需要强调一点，考生不能为了追求句子表达所谓的“高大上”去乱用句子，正所谓用错还不如不用。
